Aquarium

The Aquarium is placed in Porto Moniz, more necessarily in the Fort of João Baptista, a monument erected in 1730 to give reply to the onslaughts and the attacks perpetrated for the pirates on the local population. Its ruins had been recouped in 1998, and the Fort came back to have its original aspect. But the interior was adapted to accomodate the current Aquarium.

Here you can visit the caves under the direction of specialised guides. It's a pleasant visit during about 30 min.

Madeira Story Centre

The Museum: Where History gains Life! Situated in the Old Zone of the Funchal, in front of the Ferry cable, Madeira Story Centre presents complete a panoramic one of 14 million years of History of the Wood.

Since the geologic formation of the Archipelago until the present, the visitor explores can see centuries of History of Madeira, and the exposition of authentic historical objectos with resource new equipment.
